Reading FC manager Veljko Paunovic refused to be drawn on speculation linking Tom Holmes with a move to Nottingham Forest.

The 21-year-old has emerged as another potential target for Chris Hughton’s side after the Reds saw a bid for midfielder Josh Laurent rejected by Reading earlier in the transfer window.

It had been reported by Sports Witness that Forest had lodged a £1.5m bid for the Royals academy graduate who is in the last year of his current contract.

Paunovic refused to comment on the links after Tuesday’s defeat to Bristol City, simply stating: “I have no idea about that, so I can’t comment.”

The Serbian manager also refused to be drawn on speculation linking the Royals with former Nottingham Forest left-back Yuri Ribeiro.

Ribeiro is currently a free agent after his release from the City Ground.

Reading’s only summer signing so far, loanee Tom Dele-Bashiru, made his debut in the defeat to the Robins and impressed during his second half cameo.
