Here are our player ratings from Reading's 2-1 win at home to Preston North End.

Rafael: 7/10

Had nothing to do all game until producing an incredible save from close range in stoppage time to keep the score at 2-1.

Yiadom: 7/10

Superb defensively and showed great energy to drive the team forward too.

Moore: 7/10

Proper captain’s performance. Commanded the backline brilliantly and didn’t let anything go by him.

Morrison: 7/10

Rock-solid at the back, won all of his duels and was unlucky to concede a penalty. It was a blatant handball but the ball came at him very quickly.

McIntyre: 8/10

Outstanding performance from the Scotland youth international who played in his more natural centre-back position.

Brilliant in the air and never afraid to go in for a tackle when necessary.

Rinomhota: 7/10

Always seemed to be in the right place at the right time to cut the ball out.

Laurent: 7/10

Sublime pressure to win the ball before firing a lovely cross towards Azeez for Royals’ opening goal.

Azeez: 8/10

Superb performance from the young forward. Looks to have the pace Royals have been lacking and displayed great movement too. Took his goal really well.

Swift: 8/10

Continued his superb start to the season. Always looked to make things happen and should have had several assists but for some poor finishing.

Took his goal really well.

Bristow: 7/10

Missed a golden chance to score his first senior goal in the first half but his overall performance was very promising. Certainly didn’t look out of place.

Joao: 6/10

Good strength and hold up play but should have opened his account for the season shortly after the restart.
