A person is currently in hospital after sustaining life-threatening injuries in an assault in Reading.

Paramedics and Thames Valley Police rushed to the scene on Oxford Road following reports of an assault at around 11.30pm yesterday evening.

An air ambulance was also deployed.

Upon arrival, a person was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.

A spokesperson from The South Central Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 11.30pm to Oxford Road in Reading to reports of an assault.

“We sent to the scene two ambulance crews, an ambulance officer and the Thames Valley Air Ambulance and they were assessing and treating one patient who was in a life-threatening condition.

“Following treatment at the scene by our crews the patient was taken onto hospital.”
