Offices above a nightclub and bar in the town centre could be turned into 24 flats, with new plans submitted to Reading Borough Council (RBC).

County House , 17 Friar Street, is above Q-Club and Pitcher and Piano in the town centre.

The offices are currently occupied by Clifton Ingram LLP, Haslams Surveyors LLP and M-Brain Ltd, respectively a law firm, chartered surveyor and market intelligence company.

Meanwhile, plans are afoot to turn offices on King’s Road into nine flats.

Plans have been submitted to covert the Abbey Corner building at 2 Kings Road into apartments on the first, second and third floor, with no plans yet for the ground floor.

There are also plans to turn offices above a hair salon on Cross Street into three flats.

The offices at 20 Cross Street, above the Cocoon hair and beauty salon, will become three one-bed apartments if the plan is approved.

Additionally, plans have been submitted to turn Thames Water offices on Rose Kiln Lane, south Reading, into 38 or 34 flats and to offices in Caversham into 11 flats.

The Caversham offices are currently occupied by Delta Scientific, who have submitted plans to convert 70 South View Avenue into flats.

Two plans have been submitted at Rose Kiln Kane. The 34-flat plan would be a mix of one and two bed apartments, while the 38-flat scheme would be only one-bed apartments.
