Confidence in Reading FC from the bookies has fallen in the last two months.

After a quiet summer period at the Select Car Leasing with the exception of the high-profile departures of Omar Richards and Michael Olise, odds backing the Royals to go up have lengthened since the start of the summer.

Reading had been given odds of 20/1 to win the league and odds of 13/2 to achieve promotion with Sky Bet back at the start of June.

These odds now stand at 33/1 for the Royals to lift the trophy and 9/1 to earn promotion by any method.

Recently relegated Fulham and West Brom odds have fallen from 6/1 on June 7 to 5/1 at the time of writing and are the favourites to lift the trophy at the end of next season.

Sheffield United's odds have gone from 8/1 to 6/1 to lift the trophy.

Swansea City has also seen their odds change drastically in the same time period, going from 14/1 to 25/1.

Sky Bet have changed their odds for a Royals relegation from 8/1 to 13/2.

On June 7, Blackpool (15/8), Peterborough (2/1) and Huddersfield (9/4) were the favourites to finish the campaign in the drop zone next season.

Derby County now stands as the odds on favourites for relegation, with ominous odds of 8/11.

Peterborough (now 5/2) and Blackpool (now 11/4) follow Derby in the market.
