Royals boss Veljko Paunovic has issued a defiant response following speculation linking star midfielder Josh Laurent with a move to Championship rivals Nottingham Forest.
Reports in The Sun suggested that the Reds were considering making a swoop for the 26-year-old, who has a year remaining on his current contract.

Speaking to the media, the Serbian manager stated that although he was not surprised to see interest in Laurent, he hopes to see Laurent remain at the club for the long term.
"I'm not surprised Josh Laurent has been recognised as very talented and a target for other teams.

"That is just a part of football.
"He is our player, he is doing fantastic in training and we're developing his role.
"He is already one of our leaders and we believe he is going to stay with us.
"He is 100% committed and we are so happy to have him with us."
