Some people loved the X Factor, some people loathed it - but there is no doubting its influence on the UK since it began.

ITV have confirmed that the programme will not be returning for another series, meaning its long-term run has officially come to an end.

Berkshire can boast its fair share of talented entrants who made their name on the popular programme.

Danyl Johnson

Danyl Johnson was born in Arborfield in 1982.

The talented singer auditioned for Series 6 of The X Factor UK and made it to the semi-final as part of the Over 25s category mentored by Simon Cowell.

He was eliminated in the semi-final, finishing in 4th place.

Max and Harvey

Originally from Sandhurst, the duo competed in The X Factor: Celebrity as part of the Groups category mentored by Simon Cowell.

They finished as runner-up to Megan McKenna.

Nate Simpson

Pop singer Nate Simpson was originally from Slough and competed in the 2016 edition of X Factor.

Before the show even began, he had already released a debut EP Steady, which was aired on BBC Radio 1.

Fil with an F

Maidenhead rocker Fil with an F appeared on the show back in 2013 and surprised the judges with his energetic performances on stage.

Onkar Judge

Slough's Onkar Judge came to notoriety for his rendition of Earth Song by Michael Jackson during an audition.

Sadly for Onkar, the notoriety was not the sort he was hoping for - with his audition being labelled as one of the worst in the shows long history.
