The following cases were heard at Reading Magistrates’ Court:

May 10
JORDAN CARTER, 22, of Priory Avenue, Hungerford, admitted to driving under the influence of cannabis in Newbury on October 31, 2020. He was banned from driving for 12 months, fined £200, made to pay a £34 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. 
LAUREN TALMAGE, 26, of Florence Gardens, Thatcham, admitted to driving under the influence of cannabis in Newbury on November 8, 2020. She was banned from driving for 12 months, fined £120, made to pay a £34 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. 
CAMERON SPENCE, 31, of Greenham Close, Thatcham, admitted driving under the influence of cannabis and cocaine in Newbury on June 4, 2019. He also admitted to driving without a licence and driving without due care and attention. He was sentenced to prison for four months suspended for 12 months, due to the severity of the offence. He must undertake rehabilitation activity and carry out 100 hours of unpaid work. He was banned from driving for 36 months and told to pay a £115 victim surcharge and £500 court costs. 

May 11
VAGNER GIMENES-BERA, 39, of Bath Road, Thatcham, admitted drink driving on Bath Road in Thatcham on April 11, 2021. He was caught with 46 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the limit being 35mcg. He was banned from driving for 13 months, fined £300, told to pay a £34 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.
DARRELL WEBB, 32, of Camelford Close, Reading, admitted threatening to destroy a door, in Reading, on February 20, 2021. He was sentenced to prison for 12 weeks suspended for 24 months. He must undertake rehabilitation activity, made to pay a £128 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. 
ROBERT HEARN, 32, of College Piece, Mortimer, admitted stealing Budweiser beer, on March 9, 2021, from a shop in Mortimer. He was fined £40, made to pay a £34 victim surcharge, and £85 court costs. 
KEVIN FIDLER, 67, of Newtown Road, Newbury, admitted stealing groceries from Lidl, on April 17, 2021, and earphones from TK Maxx in Newbury on the same day. He was fined £83, made to pay a £34 victim surcharge, and £20 court costs. 
MIHAI PROBOTEANU, 28, of Oxford Road, was convicted of assaulting a person occasioning actual bodily harm in Reading on April 7, 2021. He was sentenced to prison for 26 weeks due to the violent nature of the offence. He was also ordered to pay £300 in compensation, a £128 victim surcharge, and court costs of £775.
SEAN PRIMMER, 40, of Frensham Green, Shinfield, Reading, admitted to theft from a shop, namely stealing a Karcher 7 pressure washer worth £398, from B&Q in Reading on May 30, 2019. He was made to pay £398 compensation, a £20 victim surcharge and £350 in court costs. 

May 12
ELLIOTT BEDWARD, 24, of Boscawen Way, Thatcham, admitted to assault by beating in Sulhamstead on July 23, 2020, and to criminal damage of a Jaguar car on the same date. He was sentenced to prison for 12 weeks suspended for 24 months due to the severity of the offence. He must undertake rehabilitation activity, carry out 100 hours of unpaid work, pay £175 in compensation, a £128 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. 


A fundamental principle of justice is that it must be seen to be done.
