Here are our player ratings from Reading's 1-1 pre-season draw with Charlton Athletic.
Rafael - 6
Rarely challenged especially in the second half until Charlton's goal which he could do little about. Led the team from the back with almost constant communication.
Andy Yiadom - 8
Full of running all afternoon and wasn't afraid to have a couple of shots of his own. Worked the channel brilliantly and looked like a threat going forward as well as being disciplined and well-positioned defensively.
Jeriel Dorsett - 7
A no-nonsense display from Dorsett who made sure he won his fair share of 50/50's with a strong and commanding performance. Passed the ball well.
Michael Morrison - 6
Started several attacks with accurate forward passes. Keen to move the ball quickly. A competent and solid defensive display.
Ethan Bristow - 6
Did himself no harm with his 45-minute cameo. Strong in the challenge and eager to provide another option for his teammates out wide.
Josh Laurent - 6
Combative and tenacious as ever from Laurent in the middle of the pitch. Would have liked to see him try and carry the ball a bit more.
Andy Rinomhota - 5
Spread the play effectively with some good passing. Covered a lot of ground.
Ovie Ejaria - 8
Scored a stunning opening goal and looked like a threat all game with his skill on the ball. Caused all sorts of problems out on the wing. Played with real intensity and tempo.
John Swift - 5
Dropped deep to retrieve the ball but often left teammates looking isolated further forward as a result. Played some nice passing but his set-pieces were, at times, frustrating.
Dejan Tetek - 6
Looked bright and showed his flexibility by playing in a more unfamiliar wide role.
Femi Azeez - 5
Much like on Wednesday, the youngster showed good movement and an eagerness to work the space but failed to produce anything of note to show for it.
SUBS
Achraf Lazaar - 4
Lost his man for Charlton's goal. Looked threatening going forward at first but faded as the game developed.
Kyle Edwards - 5
Tried to take the game to Charlton and was eager to run at his man. Didn't display a great deal of end product but was a lively cameo.
Nahum Melvin-Lambert - 5
Got in some good positions but spurned opportunities with wayward finishing.
Mamadi Camara - 6
Came on late and showed good movement.
