A PROLIFIC thief has been dealt almost a decade behind bars after admitted 22 burglary offences.

Preng Gjoka, of no fixed abode, will face years in prison after a major cross-county police operation into the theft of £60,000 of jewellery and cash.

Reading Crown Court heard how the 26 year old was arrested as part of Operation Ordain investigating 43 burglaries across the South East.

The offences happened between November 5, and November 23, 2019, and thousands of pounds in cash and jewellery was stolen.

Gjoka admitted his part, pleading guilty to 22 counts of conspiracy to burgle and was sentenced at the same court on Friday, June 18.

Investigating Officer Detective Constable Wasim Akram of the Incident & Crime Response Team based at Loddon Valley police station said: “Thames Valley Police officers along with officers from Hertfordshire Constabulary, Bedfordshire Police and Hampshire Constabulary worked together to identify those behind these offences.

"Together, we worked to bring Preng Gjoka to justice and he will now serve time in prison as a result of his actions."
