SO many of us spend too many hours in the week travelling to and from work in a sea of traffic - making it the last thing we need for a weekend.

Drivers have been warned of numerous areas where roadworks are planned and could prompt delays.

Roadworks seems to be popping up all round Reading currently with a lot of ground works underway.

To make life a little easier for the weekend, we have rounded up the most likely roads and areas to experience delays according to local traffic feeds.

The Meadway, Tilehurst - CityFibre is carrying out ongoing works which are scheduled to run from June 25 to Aug 10. There are multi-way traffic signals in place which could cause delays.

Tilehurst Road, Tilhurst - CityFibre is also carrying out works which are scheduled to run from May 27 to June 29 in Tilehurst Road. There are multi-way traffic signals in place which could cause delays.

Water Road, Tilehurst - More CityFibre works in Water Road from May 11 to June 30, again multi-way signals expected to cause delays.

Oxford Road, Tilehurst - The roadworks in Oxford Road for CityFibre are planned to run from June 23 to July 25 at Beecham Road, and further along at Albany Road until July 16. There will be multi-way traffic lights in place this weekend at both points.

Castle Hill, West Reading - Thames Water is currently ondergoing works in Castle Hill which has caused delays throughout this past week. The roadworks are planned to last until July 3, and one lane is closed as a result.

Crown Street, Coley - Thames Water is also working on an area in Crown Street and as a result the road is completely closed. Works are expected to run from June 27 to June 30.

Market Place, central Reading - More water works are disrupting areas in central Reading with a road closure in Market Place. Thames Water is expected to be on site here until July 7.

Sidmouth Street, Reading - Reading Borough Council's road teams are undergoing 'unclassified' works in Sidmouth Street. These will run from June 27 to July 26.

London Road, Reading - A lane is reportedly closed for ongoing SSE works in London Road until July 9.

Loddon Bridge Road, Woodley - Multiway traffic control signals are expected to cause delays in Woodley this weekend. SGN are upgrading the gas network and as a result works are expected to take place in Loddon Bridge Road from June 21 to Aug 31.

Sandford Lane, Hurst - Thames Water has closed the road and a diversion is in place to allow for water works. The roadworks are expected to run up to July 1.

A33 Relief Road, Reading - Reading Brough Council is undertaking 'street furniture works' and as a result there is a lane closure on the A33. These are expeted to run up to July 31 as works move along the carriageway.

Reading Road, Winnersh - Wokingham Borough Council is undertaking works as part of the North Wokingham Distributor Road and Winnersh Relief Road works. There is multi-way signals to be put in place and works are expected to run through up to February 28, 2022.
