AN ARREST has been made after a motorcyclist died on the A34 near Chieveley, West Berkshire.

On Sunday, June 13, a man aged in his 50s from Aylesbury tragically died after he lost control of his motorbike on the A34 northbound as he passed underneath the M4.

Since then, a 43-year-old man from Oxford was arrested on June 17 on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop after a road traffic collision.

He has since been released under further investigation, and the family of the deceased continue to be supported by specially-trained police officers.

Senior investigating officer, Sergeant Darren Brown of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit based at Three Mile Cross, said: “We would still appeal for any witnesses to this incident, or anything in the lead up to it, to please get in touch with police if you have any information that could help us.

“We would like to appeal specifically to anyone that saw a 2012 plate, silver BMW 1 Series at the time, before or after the collision.

"This car was distinctive as the rear passenger side window was broken and covered with plastic and tape.

“And I would again also like to emphasise the importance of any dash cam users checking their footage, in the case that it captured anything significant.
