A man has been jailed for two years after police find 250 cannabis plants were found in his home.

Ervis Mrishaj, aged 23, of Broadlands, Milton Keynes, pleaded guilty to one count of production of a controlled Class B drug at Aylesbury Crown Court on June 9.

Thames Valley Police searched his property following reports of a strong smell of cannabis on May 8.

He was charged a day later.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Lynda Stearman of CID at Milton Keynes police station said: “Thames Valley Police officers responded to reports from members of the public of a smell of cannabis coming from a residential property on 8 May.

“Upon searching the property, officers found a cannabis factory where hundreds of cannabis plants were being grown.

“Officers proceeded to arrest Ervis Mrishaj who was charged on 9 May and sentenced to two years in prison at Aylesbury Crown Court.

“Thames Valley Police takes drug offences seriously.

“Anyone considering engaging in illegal drug activity should think twice before doing so.
