LAST week marked the opening of Wendy's in Reading as the restaurant returned to the UK.

Long queues formed outside the fast food chain as hungry customers eagerly waited to get their hands on some Wendy's treats.

A family from Bournemouth even travelled to Reading on the opening day to get a taste.

However, the restaurant hasn't just attracted interest from the UK, but people from around the world, namely in the United States where Wendy's was created.

Similarly, Fox 14 Tampa Bay reported the same.

The Australian reported the long lines too as the chain opened its doors.

Ad Age, a global media brand, which is based in New York, wrote a piece about Wendy's new "All beef. No bull" campaign with a picture of Reading train station in the article.

Ahead of its opening, CNN reported that Wendy's would be bringing its square burgers back to the UK.

On Twitter, a resident who lives in Georgia said: "As an American myself, I was surprised Wendy's wasn't in the UK, yet not at the same time."
