Homes in the RG Whitley postcode are becoming more and more desirable, leading to a sharp increase in prices, statistics have revealed.

Estate Agent Purplebricks detailed recently how properties in the area have been going up for sale for more than the initial asking price, with their website data showing homes on sale being bought within days of going on the market.

It has been reported that plans to improve infrastructure in the area, including planning permission for Green Park Station and the Elizabeth Line (Crossrail) have been cited as possible reasons for the sharp rise in interest in the area.

Mark Heneghan, Territory Operator for Purplebricks, said: “Whitley/Whitley Wood is continuing to increase in popularity while house prices continue to rise significantly.

"A lot of people are moving in from outside the area as it is close to the town centre and Junction 11 of the M4.
