Workington Town boss Chris Thorman is sweating on the availability of several key players who picked up knocks in their victory over London Skolars at the weekend.

This Sunday Town face a trip to take on North Wales Crusaders and Thorman may have to shake up his side.

Jake Moore left the pitch early in the clash at Derwent Park and was taken to hospital with a shoulder injury.

And Gabe Fell was also struggling in the second half with his ankle, while Jake Lightowler has an issue with his shoulder.

"Jake had to have gas and air on the sidelines on Sunday and he went to hospital. His shoulder had popped out which they managed to get back in and his AC joint was sore," explained Thorman.

"Hopefully he will be back in a couple of weeks and we are just pleased it wasn't anything more.

"Gabe has rolled his ankle and potentially has a broken finger as well while Jake couldn't go back on with his shoulder.

"We do have a handful of injuries that we need to manage and see how they are tonight and take it from there."

But Thorman is confident that he now has a big enough squad to cope with injuries and he is ready to welcome back Perry Singleton, who is back after serving his suspension.

And there could be more boosts for the side with Stevie Scholey also closing in on a return, alongside Hanley Dawson.

"The good thing is we now have a squad with strength in depth," added Thorman.

Town will head to North Wales on top of Betfred League 1 after the convincing 50-16 win over London Skolars last weekend, with neighbours Barrow Raiders currently just behind them in second place on points difference.

But each game provides it's own challenges and Thorman is very aware of what the side still needs to do as the season kicks into gear.

"The season just grows and grows and there are different challenges each week," he said.

"We have to travel to North Wales and we have to make sure that we get everything right. We know it will be a close fought game."

The clash at Stadiwm (CORR) ZipWorld in Colwyn Bay on Sunday kicks off at 2.30pm.
