POLICE have reported a string of crimes west of Reading in the past week, including burglary of catalytic converter and several car windows smashed.

A series of alerts sent by Thames Valley Police indicated the string of offences took place in West Berkshire towns and villages from May 7 to May 11.

Here’s what happened and when.

May 7

In Newbury, a car’s windscreen was smashed on Enborne Road from between 10.30pm on 9.30am the following morning.

May 8

A black and grey Carrera bicycle was taken from Bath Road, Calcot on this day.

Police say it was stolen between 8pm and 10.20pm.

Also on this day, vandals smashed the window of a vehicle on Station Road in Theale between 7.30pm and 10.30pm.

And another vehicle had its rear window and driver side wing mirror smashed in Northway, Newbury at approximately 11.10pm.

May 9

Between 10am on May 9 and 8am on May 10, a thief stole the catalytic converter from a Honda Jeep on Pine Ridge Road, Burghfield Common.

May 10

Two bikes were stolen by offenders from a communal area in Victoria Grove, Newbury. One is a Specialized Carve bike and the other is a Specialized Ariel bike.

The bikes were taken between 7am and 6.30pm, police say.

Thieves also stole a catalytic converter on the same day, taking it from a Honda CR-V on Normoor Road, Burghfield Common.

May 11

Between 3pm on May 9 and up to as late as 6.30am on May 11, a thief broke into a shed stealing two bicycles from a property on Brookside, Calcot.

One is a light brown Cannondale CX3 bike and the other is silver with green handle grips.
