WE’VE all seen it -- the aspiring drag-racer in the flash car zooming past on the motorway’s outside lane.

Clearly exceeding the 70mph speed limit, you wonder if they ever get caught driving dangerously.

Well, some do, and some of these speedsters hail from Berkshire.

We’ve dug through the court lists to find five drivers from the royal county who were fined or banned for breaking the 70mph motorway limit -- including one who was driving at a staggering 107mph!

Shami Thapar, of Blunden Drive, Slough, was fined £1,000 after being caught exceeding the 70mph motorway limit on the M6 in Merseyside in May 2020.

The 43-year-old appeared at Slough Magistrates Court in December 2020, where he was also told to pay £185 in extra costs.

He was given six points on his driving licence, too.

Corey Jones, of Iona Avenue, Tilehurst, was handed a £368 penalty after he was caught speeding on the M4 in May 2020.

The 25-year-old was recorded speeding at 107 mph -- 37 mph more than the speed limit!

He was given extra costs of £122 at Wycombe Magistrates Court in January 2021.

Ashley Griffiths, of Heywood Gardens, Maidenhead, was also caught zooming over the 70mph speed limit on the M4 in May 2020.

It was not disclosed how fast he was going, but he was fined £66 and told to pay an extra £34 in costs.

The 31-year-old also received three points on his licence at Wycombe Magistrates Court in February 2021.

Joshua Rayner, of Field Place, Wokingham, was fined a whopping £1,600 after speeding at 102mph on the M11 in Essex in July 2020.

The 34-year-old was present at Chelmsford Magistrates Court in December 2020 to learn he also had to pay £270 in costs.

He was also told he was banned from driving for 28 days.

Benjamin Dunk, of Dulnan Close, Reading, was banned from driving for six months after he was caught speeding on the M25 in August of last year.

The 35-year-old was recorded at a staggering 99mph.

He was also fined £692 by Chelmsford Magistrates Court at his hearing in March.
