AN AMAZING time-lapse video has shown the progress being made on a brand new fire station near Reading.

The development of Theale Community Fire Station has been underway since September 2020.

Upon its completion, the new station will be a tri-service space offering a shared location for the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service, Thames Valley Police and the South Central Ambulance Service.

A video posted online by the Fire Service shows progress on the outside of the building, such as the fitting of the external red panels.

Inside, staircases have been fitted and electrical and mechanical installation is underway.

The post read: “In the coming weeks, fixtures and fittings will start to go in, including the kitchen areas as the project moves ever closer to providing a modern, fit-for-purpose facility for our staff, partners, and the wider community.

“We expect it to be fully operational across all three blue light partners by spring 2022, when it is hoped that local residents will be able to visit the new station to see it for themselves.”
