Many bars and pubs have reopened already but some establishments have spared punters from freezing outside in the cold due to having no outdoor space.

If you're planning a trip down to your favourite watering hole then you may want to check to see if it's open first.

We have rounded up five bars/pubs which will be reopening their doors in May.

This quirky pub in the heart of Reading town centre is currently closed because of Covid-19.

Depending on government guidelines, it should be reopening on May 17.

The Greyfriar Of Reading

Reading Chronicle:

This independent pub close to the train station is also closed.

Eager punters will be able to enjoy a pint from its eight ale pumps and 14 taps when it reopens in a couple weeks time.

The Greyfriar also specialises in gin with a permanent selection of over 30 very different brands and a “Gin of the Week” showcasing a new gin.

Outlook, Kings Road, Reading

Reading Chronicle:

Like all Greene King pubs, Outlook never reopened like other pubs when restrictions lifted last month.

On the website, it says: "You’ve spent most of 2021 going for a “nice walk”, drinking warmish wine you forgot to chill and re-watching Line of Duty, BUT not for much longer.

"Our pub is staging a comeback and we’ll be opening our doors from Monday 17th May. If you’re already imagining that first sip of freshly poured beer, book your table now online."

Hop Leaf, Southampton Street, Reading

Reading Chronicle:

This CAMRA pub prides itself on serving a range of quality real ales as well a selection of ciders, lagers, wines and spirits.

The much-loved pub is temporarily closed due to Covid-19 but should hopefully open up on May 17.

As always, check with the pubs themselves and the government guidelines nearer to the time.
