SAUSAGE roll and chicken slice fans will be excited to hear Greggs has opened a new shop in the town.

The popular bakery has revealed pictures of the new shop that opened this week in Reading, as one of 100 sites it is throwing open the doors to in 2021.

It has welcomed customers through the doors at the new bakery in Whiteknights Retail Centre, Reading.

The shop opened on April 30 for those wanting to get hold of sandwiches, savouries, or the odd sweet treats on-the-go.

Bosses said the new shop has created five new jobs for the area and opening hours are Monday to Saturday from 6am to 7pm. Sunday hours will be from 7am to 6pm.

Shop manager Chris Frewing said: “We can’t wait to welcome both Greggs fans and new customers to our brand-new shop. We’ve got an amazing range of tasty bakes, hot drinks, sweet treats and savouries available for takeaway, click and collect or Just Eat delivery.”

Roisin Currie, retail and people director for Greggs, said: “Our new shop at Whiteknights Retail Centre has brought five new jobs to the local area, as well as providing customers with a modern, convenient new place to experience their favourite Greggs food.”
