The following cases were heard at Reading Magistrates’ Court:

February 11:

KAMALDEEP BAL, 36, of Tilehurst Road, Reading, admitted failing to comply with requirements of a community order namely not attending unpaid work on August 15, 2020, and August 29, 2020.. Convicted of original offence namely drink-driving in Honey End Lane, Reading, on December 23, 2019. Found to have 74mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. Original offence also included driving while disqualified on the same occasion in Honey End Lane, Reading. Community order varied to include 76 hours unpaid work. Ordered to pay £75 court costs.

JORDAN HOPGOOD-DARCY, 19, of St Georges Terrace, Reading, admitted criminal damage to a wall at the Premier Inn in Maidenhead on December 11, 2020. Also admitted stealing a fire extinguisher from the Premier Inn in Maidenhead on December 11, 2020., and admitted failing to surrender to Slough Magistrates’ Court having been released on criminal bail on February 4, 2021. Fined £83 and ordered to pay £34 victim surcharge.

CHARLES SAMPSON, 19, of London Road, Newbury, admitted possession of Class B drug cannabis in Maidenhead on December 11, 2020. Given a conditional discharge for 12 months. Also ordered to pay £22 victim surcharge and £40 court costs. 

Reading Chronicle:

DAVID ANGUS, 28, of Priest Hill, Reading, admitted assault by beating in Reading on November 11, 2020, and admitted criminal damage to a Yale lock worth £50 in Reading on November 11, 2020. Also convicted of racially aggravated assault outside Sainsburys in London on September 19, 2020. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity and must also undertake 100 hours unpaid work. Also ordered to pay £150 compensation. Must pay £95 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

FORHAD MIAH, 33, of Branstock Close, Reading, admitted failing t comply with requirements of a community order by not attending appointments on April 5, 2018, and April 27, 2018. Fined £100 and ordered to pay £75 court costs.

LIAM COLL, 32, of Grovelands Road, Reading, convicted of assault by beating in Reading on March 8, 2020. Also convicted of stealing a Nintendo Switch Games console worth £300 in Reading on March 8, 2020. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity and must undertake 60 hours unpaid work. Made subject of a restraining order and ordered to pay £100 compensation. Also ordered to pay £90 victim surcharge and £300 court costs.

EMMA HARRIS, 45, of Heroes Walk, Reading, admitted assault by beating in Reading on October 8, 2020. Given a conditional discharge for 18 months. Must also pay £22 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

PETRUT NITA, 24, of Cranberry Road, Reading, convicted of driving a large goods vehicle or passenger carrying vehicle on Dell Road while disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence on October 13, 2019. Also admitted convicted of driving a large goods vehicle or passenger carrying vehicle on Dell Road without the correct insurance on October 13, 2019. Given a community order to comply with 80 hours of unpaid work. Also ordered to pay £85 victim surcharge and £630 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 12 months.

HAMAS ABBASI, 18, of Cirrus Drive, Reading, convicted of not being in a designated compulsory ticket area for train travel in Slough on October 29, 2020. Fined £220 and ordered to pay £2.90 compensation. Also ordered to pay £150 court costs.
