A SERIES of unplanned power cuts have hit parts of Reading today.
Households and businesses are finding themselves without electricity in some corners of the city.
According to the power track map on the Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks' website, there are outages in Swallowfield.

One of the first reports of an outage was made shortly before 8am this morning.
These are the postcodes in Reading currently affected - RG7 1TB, RG7 1TD and RG7 1TE.
The electricity network company confirmed that engineers are on site working to get the power back on.

There is also a planned power cut near the village of Burghfield and Mortimer Common.
Outages were first reported at 3.49am.
The company explained: "We are sorry for the loss of supply.
"The reason you are currently without power is a planned outage in the areas listed.
"We have turned off your electricity supply to allow us to safely carry out essential work to our electrical equipment.
"By doing this, it will help us to improve the reliability of our service to you for the future."
