I AM writing regarding the new policy by Reading Borough Council regarding the smaller landfill bins.

I fully understand the need for recycling and support it whole heartedly but little consideration has been given to those who are disabled and live in houses where the smaller bins will become full before collection.

I had thought at least the council would have replaced the bins taken with the same amount of smaller bins but we were left with 2 smaller ones in place of five!

Two people in my household are disabled and cannot take excess waste to the dump on the bus .

I’ve seen all along Kings Road each house has been left with only one or two small bins in place of more big ones .

As I said I am a supporter of recycling as much as anyone but this will cause distress and a environmental problem .
