THE Reading Chronicle has launched its Dog of the Month feature with help from Dogs Trust Newbury.

Each month, we will appeal to dog lovers who are considering adopting a dog and giving it the forever home it’s been eagerly waiting for.

This month, Bruno, a two-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross is looking for a rural home environment.

Antony Dominy, Dogs Trust Newbury Rehoming Centre Manager, said: “Bruno can be shy to start with, especially with new people and in new situations but once he gets to know you, he certainly opens up and is partial to a bit of fuss.

"He loves his toys and this is a sure way to build a bond with him.

“He’s looking for patient new owners who can help him when he starts to feel overwhelmed and continue with the training plans we have put in place to help him adjust to the big wide world and all it has to offer.

“He’d enjoy being the only dog in an adult-only home in a quiet rural environment without too much hustle and bustle, and no neighbouring pets.

"He will happily jump in the car so would enjoy heading out on an adventure once he is settled.

“He’d like to get to know his new family before heading home so would like to meet them several times prior to adoption day.

"Because of this, it would be ideal if his new family lived within a 45 minutes drive of the rehoming centre.”

If you think you could offer Bruno a home, please call 01488 505157.
