THERE could only be one picture that makes it to Reading Chronicle's pic of the week this time around.

Of course, the incredible Banksy artwork that keep us all on the edge of our seats for most the week.

On March 1, the town woke to whisperings of the new mural and could it really be Banksy?

The elusive artist had snuck in and created the image of a prisoner escaping over the wall of Reading Prison.

It was not until Thursday, March 4, that the famous street artist revealed on his official Instagram page that he was behind the latest work.

Residents have spent the week visiting the site for a glance at a Banksy original, and as a result there has been a great buzz about the town.

Thanks to Banksy there has been a ripple of excitement through Reading, and most importantly the artist has raised the awareness of the Save the Gaol campaign.
