Pell Street

Reading Chronicle:

Anna Zborowska: "Drivers traveling down Pell Street very often drives above the speed limit. There is limited visibility to the right which is very dangerous for drivers wishing to turn right towards the town center. Living near I witnessed many dangerous situations. "We used to have a mirror there but it's gone a couple years ago."

Ashmore Road

Reading Chronicle:

Andy Dobson "Despite a chicane installed midway in the road, a great number of high performance vehicles during the day and night, well exceed the residential roads speed limit.

"During lockdown and restrictions there have obviously been more children about. I have witnessed 3 near misses on the last month."

Christchurch Road

Carol Holliday: "Cars regularly jump a red light at the pedestrian lights just after the Whitley Pump roundabout.

"They leave the roundabout at speed and fail to notice the lights. Many times I have witnessed this and I've experienced being actually on the crossing and a car has jumped the red light."

Halls Road, Tilehurst

Reading Chronicle:

One resident thinks action will be taking to improve the safety of a road once an accident happens or someone is killed.

Graham Newport said: "Boy racers doing +80mph Most of time plenty others doing 50mph plus. Have been advised that two people need to be killed first before they look at traffic calming traffic calming!"

Cressingham Road

Julie White: "People speeding as use it as a cut through. If you're parked or parking and you're trying to pull out then it's difficult. Also crossing the road is difficult."

Rotherfield Way

Julie White also thinks this road is dangerous being next to a school with students crossing the road.

She said: "Highdown school pupils use this road to get to school. Cars speeding on this road make it difficult for them to cross safely and of course they are in a rush to cross. There has already been incidents of children being hit by Carson that road."

Southcoate Lane

Reading Chronicle:

L.Young: "Despite there being a total of four speed cameras on the entire length of the Road. I question whether the cameras have been recalibrated (at all) to lower speed limit. Because people use the Road as practice space for Drag Racing."
