A HOUSE fire in Woodley left a roof partially destroyed yesterday morning (Sunday, January 31).

Pictures show fire crews attending the scene at Sherbourne Drive, with fire engines parked outside.

Part of the property's roof was ruined in the blaze, which saw crews from Wokingham Road, Bracknell, Wokingham, Caversham Road and Whitley Wood called to area.

They were supported by crews from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service.

A spokeswoman from Royal Berkshire Fire and rescue Service (RBFRS) said: "At 7:28am on Sunday, 31 January, we received reports of a fire at a property in Sherbourne Drive, Woodley.

"Upon arrival, crews found a fire affecting the bedroom, which spread to the roof.

"Six firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using three hose reels and a jet.

"Crews were on the scene for approximately six hours."

Nobody has been reported to have been injured in the fire.
