The housing market has seen a huge boom since the first lockdown, in part due to the Chancellor's stamp duty tax holiday.

But some properties aren't being snapped up as quickly as one would have thought.

Swindon homes are being considerably reduced in price, in the hopes for a faster sale.

So, if you're looking for a bit of a bargain or to get your foot on the property ladder now might be your chance to scoop up your dream home.

Here are five properties which have seen the greatest price reduction:

Norbury Court, SN5
£80,000

Swindon Advertiser:

According to Zoopla, this one-bedroom flat has seen the biggest overall price reduction since it was first listed.

This property was first listed for £120,000 but this price has been reduced by more than 33 per-cent since being listed for sale in April.

The major reduction in price could be down to the fact that the apartment is part of a retirement complex for over 55s. Properties like this are extremely difficult to resell as it's a niche market.

However, the one-bedroom home has plenty to offer any prospective buyer with a spare £80,000.

Offered for sale with no onward chain the ex-show home is close to a bus route and library and even has a ground floor convenience store.

The property sits on a secure gated development and has been well decorated and maintained throughout making it ideal for those who need to move straight in.

The property can be found on Zoopla.

Manchester Road, SN1
£130,000

Swindon Advertiser:

The price of this two-bedroom terraced house has been slashed by more than 31 per-cent since first being listed.

It was first listed for sale in July 2020 when it was priced at £190,000.

Since then, it has seen three price reductions being slashed by a total of £60,000.

The property is located in the heart of Swindon within 290 yards of Swindon Train Station.

Conveniently positioned this home also boasts off street parking and a small rear garden that is in need of some TLC.

This stunning grade II listed thatched cottage is situated on a 0.33 acre plot with planning permission for a rear extension.

Swiss Cottage was built in 1850 as a summer house by Lord Barrington of Beckett Park, who wanted to replicate the honeymoon accommodation that he had previously enjoyed in Switzerland.

As a result this grade II listed detached, thatched cottage offers an abundance of original features including cut timber to brick walls, diamond glazing throughout, a galleried landing and gabled thatched roofing.
