The following cases were heard at Reading Magistrates’ Courts

November 24: 

JASON PHIPPEN, 52, Cutbush Lane, Shinfield, admitted two counts of breaching a non-molestation order in Arborfield on September 2, and September 4 by sending emails that he was prohibited from sending. Given a community order including 100 hours unpaid work and made subject to a restraining order. Also ordered to pay £95 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. 

MICHAEL O’SHEA, 48, of Hazel Crescent, Reading, admitted stealing numerous items worth £240.08 from Asda in Reading on August 24. Also admitted failing to surrender to custody at Reading Magistrates Court on October 29. Given a conditional discharge for 18 months. Also ordered to pay £100 fine and £22 victim surcharge.

MICHAEL LITTLEBOY, 24, of Mylum Close, Reading, admitted drug-driving on Basingstoke Road, Reading, on March 7. Found to have cannabis in his blood. Fined £120. Also ordered to pay £34 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 12 months. 

JERMAL MACCARTHY-ROBERTSON, 21, of Wensley Road, Reading, convicted racially or religiously aggravated harassment or alarm or distress by words or writing in Berkshire on July 24, 2018. Also convicted assault by beating in Berkshire on July 24, 2018. Given a community order including a curfew requirement with electronic monitoring. Also ordered to pay £100 compensation, £85 victim surcharge and £250 court costs. 

ARMANI BENNETT, 20, of William Street, Reading, admitted possession of a knuckle duster on Friar Street, Reading, on March 6. Given a community order including 60 hours unpaid work. Also ordered to pay £90 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. 

SIMEON EDWARDS, 23, of Dawlish Road, Reading, admitted drug-driving on Lorne Street, Reading, on May 1. Found to have cannabis in their blood. Fined £150. Also ordered to pay £34 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 12 months. 

CRAIG JONES, 45, of Oxford Road, Reading, admitted sending an offensive electronic message of an indecent, obscene or menacing character, in Reading on April 21. Given a conditional discharge for 12 months. Must pay £22 victim surcharge and £135 court costs.

SHAUN BASDEN, 49, of Caversham Road, Reading, admitted stealing a reel of cable worth £93.35 from Norstead Electrical in Reading on June 12, and admitted stealing pork fillet meat worth £45 from Kung Fu Restaurant in Reading on September 24. Also commission of a further offence during a suspended sentence order, namely four theft offences, two charges of failure to surrender to court , and assault by beating. Ordered to pay £138 compensation, and £170 court costs. Sentenced to prison for four months suspended for two years.

MARIE WORTHY, 53, of Paynesdown Road, Thatcham, stole two ASOS parcels containing two bridesmaid dresses worth £122.40 in Newbury on May 28, 2019. Given a conditional discharge for 12 months. Also ordered to pay £122 compensation, £22 victim surcharge an £150 court costs. 

November 25:

WAHEED KHAN, 27, of Oxford Road, Reading, admitted possession of cannabis in Reading on January 21, 2020. Given a conditional discharge for 18 months. Also ordered to pay £21 victim surcharge and £50 court costs. 

WAHAB KHAWAJA, 29, of Carey Street, Reading, admitted drink-driving on Portman Road, Reading, on September 13. Found to have 51mcg per 100ml of breath, exceeding the legal limit of 35mcg. Fined £120. Also ordered to pay £34 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 12 months. 

BEVERLY EMERY, 37, of Range Court, Boundary Road, Newbury, admitted being in charge of a dangerously out of control dog at Reading West Station on June 13. Fined £120. Also ordered to pay £150 compensation and £34 victim surcharge.
