AROUND six men were believed to be involved in a fight in Reading with some "suspected to be carrying weapons".

Thames Valley Police (TVP) said at around 6pm on Wednesday (January 6) police were called to reports of a fight on Stanhope Road at the roundabout near to Bamburgh Close.

The force said: "Around six men are believed to have been involved and some of these were suspected to be carrying weapons.

"One man sustained cuts to his head but did not require hospital treatment."

The offenders are described as Asian men wearing dark clothing and bobble hats and some of them are believed to have used a black Ford Focus.

A 21-year-old man from Reading has been arrested on suspicion of affray and released on bail.

Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Alexander Willis, based at Reading police station, said: “I am appealing for anyone with information about this incident or any CCTV, dash-cam or mobile footage to come forward.
