NEW areas of Reading have seen a spike in Covid cases in the last week.
According to a Gov.UK map showing weekly increases and decreases in cases by area, three new parts of town have become 'high case areas'.
Meanwhile, the town overall has seen a drop in cases, with three locations in Reading recording far fewer cases.

The map presents cases locally for the latest week available (last week, date ending December 2).
Areas with the biggest increase throughout the week (in the seven days up to December 2 include:
Southampton Street & Redlands Road
Total: 21 cases during the week
Difference: Increase of 9 from the previous week
Rate: 201
Norcot north
Total: 17 cases during the week
Difference: Decrease of one from the previous week
Rate: 213.2
Whitley Wood
Total: 17 cases during the week
Difference: Increase of six from the previous week
Rate: 238.7
Darker blue areas show a higher increase in cases
Three new areas have seen a particularly big drop in cases, or have maintained a low rate. These include:
Lower Earley North
Total: Four cases during the week
Difference: Decrease of three from the previous week
Rate: 39.4
Lower Earley South
Total: Seven cases during the week
Difference: Decrease of six from the previous week
Rate: 89.6

Total: Five cases during the week
Difference: Decrease of three from the previous week
