CHRISTMAS lights were switched on at a house in Tilehurst last night revealing a festive wonderland.

Each year Kaylee Seymour puts up decorations outside her house in order to raise money for a charity close to her family's heart.

Kaylee's 23 year old brother suffers with a heart disease and is often in hospital in Southampton for treatment.

Whilst he is in hospital, Kaylee and other family members are able to stay at Heartbeat House which is right next door.

This is the charity she fundraises for each year.

Usually, people gather around the house to watch the lights being switched on but due to the pandemic the celebrations were slightly different this year.

A virtual switch on took place yesterday evening (December 2) where people were able to enjoy the event through Facebook live.

Kaylee said the lights will be on every night from 6pm until 9pm.

The festive decorations include Santa and his reindeer on the roof, Christmas trees and a Nativity set.

The front garden is covered in light up figures including giant baubles and a train set.

A giant gold teddy bear topped with a Christmas hat sits next to the house too.

If you would like to see the lights the address is Hugh Fraser Drive, Tilehurst.

People can donate money in a giving pot outside the house or donate online.

So far £515 of the £1,000 target has been raised.
