A VIDEO has been released showing the terrifying moments a driver drove on the wrong side of the road as he was chased by police.

Thames Valley Police said officers tried to stop the vehicle Lemar Wallace-Clarke was driving on January 5, 2020.

However "he drove off along Loddon Bridge Road, driving over the speed limit, through red lights and on the wrong side of the road".

A video show him speeding away from police who described his actions as "reckless".

The 25-year-old of Rhine Close, Caversham, can be seen driving the wrong way around roundabouts too.

Police said: "The driver undertook highly dangerous manoeuvres.

"Fortunately, there were no collisions but it could have been so much worse."

At the end of the video, Wallace-Clarke was cornered by police but he jumped out of the car and tried to run away.

The force said he was sentenced on November 11 to eight months’ imprisonment and was also disqualified from driving for two years and four months with a requirement to take an extended test in a hearing at Reading Crown Court.

Wallace-Clarke pleaded guilty to one count each of dangerous driving, driving other than in accordance with a licence and driving without insurance.
