"KNIFE arches" have been set up by police at train stations across the area in a bid to tackle knife crime.
Thames Valley Police in West Berkshire tweeted yesterday (November 11) to explain officers had "been carrying out another joint operation against knife crime with officers from Reading".

The "knife arches" were set up at Reading West, Tilehurst and Pangbourne train stations.

The Neighbourhood teams carried out sweeps of local parks in Newbury to check for any discarded knives.
This included at Victoria Park yesterday afternoon.
The work forms part of Operation Sceptre which targets knife crime in the area.
