READING honoured the fallen this morning for Remembrance Sunday, in a smaller wreath laying service which took place in line with Covid secure guidelines.

The town was encouraged to remember from home this year, and the event was live streamed by the Reading Borough Council (RBC).

At 11am, wreaths were placed at the Forbury Cenotaph to remember the fallen from the two World Wars, and more recent conflicts.

The service included a limited number of attendees observing social distancing outdoors, including RBC leader Jason Brock, bishop of Reading Olivia Graham, Mayor of Reading David Stevens, Reading MPs Matt Rodda and Alok Sharma, and several other guests.
