MANY local businesses are once again turning to deliveries to run their service during the second lockdown, which is effective today (November 5).

We have rounded up a list of local places which have confirmed they will still be available for the next month through deliveries:

Fun 'n' Frolic, Richfield Avenue

Reading Chronicle:

The party store, based in Richfield Avenue, will be operating for collection or delivery.

Opening hours will be 11am - 6pm Monday - Wednesday and 11am - 4pm Thursday - Saturday.

Prepaid collections and deliveries will begin today.

Caversham Emporium

The antique store owners have created a website to trade during lockdown.

In a Facebook post, the store said: "Please show support to your local independent Emporium" with details on the new website, which will launch on Friday, November 6 at cavershamemporium.co.uk.

Burghfield Spices

The restaurant Burghfield Spices will also be open for deliveries throughout lockdown.

A statement on its Facebook page reads: "It's with sadness that I have to call last, last orders this Wednesday once again.

"Our pub and restaurant are required to temporarily close by the government to help protect our wonderful community.

"The good news is our amazing Covid secure take away and delivery service will continue to operate every day throughout lockdown. Our sumptuous Indian and English menu is now the largest in all of Berkshire and our delivery area is also increasing."

Tutu's Ethiopian Table

The popular eatery based in Palmer Park Avenue will begin deliveries today.

A statement on the company's Facebook reads: "Following the new lockdown rules, we have decided to stay open for takeaway and online order collections with a limited menu from Thursday till Saturday, 11am till 3pm.

"It's very disheartening because we're just trying to recover from the previous lockdown and we're now back to square one.

"Nobody knows what's going to happen, but as a business we will continue to work hard to stay afloat.

"I know we have a strong and supportive community that will work together to keep the business going.

"Don’t forget that there are many other independent cafes and restaurants that have also been hit hard by the pandemic and need your help. Reading wouldn’t be the same without them!"

Shed

Reading Chronicle:

Cafe Shed has also announced a delivery service.

A statement reads: "We will remain open doing take aways, click and collect, running out to your car with your lunch, plus a toastie delivery option every Wed, Thurs, Fri - whatever it takes to keep you sandwiched up over lockdown 2.0.

"Menus and more info on delivery hotline to come."

Cafe Yolk

Another cafe open for deliveries is Cafe Yolk.

A statement on the Facebook page said: "From this Thursday, November 5, Cafe Yolk will be open as take away only!! We will have the same opening and closing times from 8am-4pm.

"The menu will be available online, all you have to do is phone us up and place your order (01183271055).

"Our lovely staff will be there to look after everyone!

"And from everyone at Cafe Yolk we want to thank you for your continued support and we cannot wait to see you again. #teamyolk #staysafe #takeaway."

The Grumpy Goat

Beer and spirits shop The Grumpy Goat has announced it is staying open throughout the second lockdown.

The business announced: "WE ARE STAYING OPEN during lockdown 2.

"As usual we will be taking Covid - 19 precautions extremely seriously:

- Limited customers in the shop at any one time (currently one customer at a time or one household).

- Hands must be sanitised on entry and exit of the shop.

- Facemasks must be worn at all times.

- Social distancing rules in place.

"In addition to being open we also offer a click and collect service via our website and run a local delivery service with free delivery if you live within five miles of the shop.

"Let's stand strong and support each other however we can!"

Hickies Music Store

The store's website says: "From Thursday November 5, our store will be temporarily closed, however we will still be processing online orders.
