A MAN has suffered a fractured eye socket and nose having been punched in the face by an attacker.

Thames Valley Police said the victim, a man in his forties, was driving along London Road in Reading on Wednesday (October 28) at about 8pm.

Another driver, on the same stretch of road, reportedly threw something at the victim’s vehicle as he drove past.

Police said when both vehicles had stopped at a red light at the junction of the IDR on London Street near the Vue cinema, the men got out of their vehicles.

The offender then pushed the victim into a planter on the verge of the road.

When the victim got back on his feet, the offender then punched him in the face.

The victim suffered injuries to his face including a fractured left eye socket and nose, for which he attended the Royal Berkshire Hospital for treatment.

The force said the offender is described as a black man in his mid-twenties, around 6ft tall with a large athletic build and short dreadlock hair.

He was wearing a plain black t-shirt and was driving a black hatchback car.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Sasha Dowson, based at Reading police station said: “I am appealing for any witnesses of this incident, or anyone who was driving in the area at the time and may have captured something on their dash-cam to please get in touch.
