ROADWORKS are the bane of drivers' lives so to help you avoid them we have put together a list of works that are taking place in Reading this week and how long they will last for.

Burghfield Bridge Closure

Burghfield Road will be closed at Burghfield Bridge for three nights from Monday, October 12.

This is for preparatory work to repair the bridge parapets.

The works have been programmed to be carried out over the following three nights:

Monday, October 12: 7pm until 5am.

Tuesday, October 13: 7pm until 5am.

Wednesday, October 14: 7pm until 5am.

Once this work has been carried out the parapet will be then be rebuilt using a pontoon on the canal with the bridge open to traffic as normal under the permanent two way traffic lights.

Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles although a short wait is to be expected whilst plant is moved aside.

Lines Road

The road will be closed from October 5 until October 23.

This is to allow Southern Gas Network contractors to undertake gas main replacement and connection work in safety.

Access will be maintained at all times.

Church Hill

The road will be closed from October 5 until October 23.

This is to allow Southern Gas Network contractors to undertake gas main replacement and connection work in safety.

Access will be maintained at all times.

Greensward Lane

This road will be closed from October 12 until October 17.

Access will be maintained at all times.
