3. Reading residents raise concern about health impact of gas tower demolition amid Covid 19

Concerns have been raised about the impact of demolishing the Newtown gas tower during the Covid-19 pandemic, as readers respond to the news works to remove the east Reading landmark could begin in early October.

Some have expressed relief at the gas tower being demolished, while others have expressed sadness, with reader Bong Likita saying he is “gutted” that the gas tower will be removed.

4. Tilehurst: Air Ambulance called following incident

AN incident in Tilehurst has led to emergency services rushing to the scene.

Although reports have not detailed the cause of the emergency, Thames Valley Police and South Central Ambulance Services were seen near Mayfair, Tilehurst, including a Thames Valley Air Ambulance, which reportedly landed in Park Lane Primary School Playing Field.

5. Council rejects Reading Golf Club's code of conduct complaint against councillor

A councillor has been cleared of breaking Reading Borough Council’s (RBC) code of conduct rules after a complaint from Reading Golf Club (RGC).

The golf club accused councillor Clare Grashoff of a “serious breach” of the council’s code for her role in opposing plans for 260 homes while “not declaring her own family, personal and financial interests”.
