The number of recorded coronavirus cases in Swindon increased by three over the last 24 hours, official figures show.

Public Health England figures show that 1,363 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 by 9am on Wednesday in Swindon, up from 1,360 the same time on Wednesday.

The rate of infection in Swindon now stands at 613.4 cases per 100,000 people, lower than the England average of 627.

Across the UK, the number of recorded cases increased by 6,634 over the period, to 416,363.

The number of coronavirus patients at Great Western Hospital who died after testing positive for the virus remains at 129.
