TWO households are self-isolating after a performing arts school tested all of its students for coronavirus.
The Wilkes Academy at Westmead Industrial Estate has been testing its students today.
But it will not confirm whether or not any of them have Covid-19 until those showing symptoms take an NHS test.
And receiving the results of that could take as long as a week given the current delays.
Nikki Wilkes of the academy said: “We ordered these tests because we wanted to test all our students to be safe. We’ve told these students to self-isolate with their households, we tell all our students who might have symptoms to self-isolate to be on the safe side.
“The government tests are taking a long time to get a result and some of our students are having to travel as far as Birmingham just to get a test.”
