CHRISTMAS spirit remains alive and kicking in Reading, with readers remaining positive that it can still be celebrated well despite Covid-19.
The virus has seen the cancellation of most things this year, with summer celebrations, festivals and holidays halted in an effort to stop the spread of the virus.

Usually a time for parties, catch ups, work dos and family get togethers, Covid and Christmas don't exactly go hand in hand.
In a poll published in The Chronicle last week, asking 'what will happen this Christmas?' the majority of responders remained hopeful, with 62 per cent voting: 'it will be different, but we can still enjoy it.'
Another 31 per cent said: 'Christmas spirit can survive anything.'
A further seven per cent said: 'It will be awful without celebrating properly, should be cancelled', while there were no votes for 'it will all be over by then.'

Commenting on the Chronicle's Facebook post, Mich Punk said: "Well hopefully Christmas won't be cancelled this year - if so then that’ll be a shame."
Natalie Ellis said: "Christmas is definitely not cancelled for us" while Kate Brandon said: "We will still have a lovely day regardless."
It is inevitable that Christmas 2020 will be different, but it seems like Reading as a town will still be making the best of it.
