COFFEE will be brewed all afternoon in a Purton pub to raise money in memory of a much-loved mum.
Bee Gill lost her mother Tej last year after she was diagnosed with endometrial cancer, she died aged 80 on Mother’s Day. Lockdown started just as the first anniversary of her death came round so she decided to mark it once restrictions were eased.
She said: “We’ll be selling all kinds of things such as cakes and homemade snacks, including some recipes my mum used to make. There will be games and a raffle, lots of local businesses have helped out to give prizes for winners. It’s something close to my heart and I want to help other people who have lost a loved one to cancer.”
The coffee afternoon is at the Royal George at Pavenhill on September 26 between 1pm and 4pm. All money raised will go to Macmillan. Donations can be made at justgiving.com/fundraising/beegill1
