FIREFIGHTERS were at the scene of a blaze in Whitley for more than three hours yesterday (Wednesday, September 16).
The building, reported locally as Niki Stores newsagents on Whitley Wood Lane, caught fire yesterday morning.

Four different crews from Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS) were called to the scene just before 10am.
The service confirmed the incident today, adding: "Crews from Whitley Wood, Caversham Road, Dee Road and Wokingham were sent to the scene, together with one officer.
"Upon arrival, crews found a fire in the ground floor of the property.

"Ten firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using three hose reels.
"Crews were on scene for about three and a half hours."
The cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed.
