A LAWNMOWER and a catalytic converter are just two items that have been stolen by thieves in Reading this past week.

Thames Valley Police has issued alerts to residents following multiple thefts in the area recently.

The force said an Atco petrol lawnmower was stolen from a Ford transit van in Porchester Road, Newbury (crime reference 43200276129) after thieves broke into the vehicle.

It happened between 7pm on September 2 and 5pm on September 3.

Also in Newbury, a catalytic converter belonging to a Honda CR-V in Queens Road was stolen between 6.30pm on September 2 and 9.30am on September 3.

The crime reference number is 43200276059.

Elsewhere in Reading, police said a thief broke into a shed and stole a black Apollo bike in Highworth Way, Tilehurst.

The force said it happened between midnight and 11.30am on September 3 (reference 43200275918).

Another bike was also stolen in Tilehurst when a thief broke into a garage on Lytham End and took a specialised Hardrock Mountain Bike.

Police said it happened between 11pm on August 31 and 9.30am on September 1.
