THE nation’s favourite ballroom couple are heading out on the road with their new tour in 2021.

Anton Du Beke and Erin Boag are launching Showtime, a glittering celebration that pays tribute to some of the world’s greatest icons of entertainment – and they will be performing at The Hexagon in Reading in early February.

The dance show will be inspired by an array of classic performers including Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Charlie Chaplin, Shirley Bassey, Tom Jones, Liza Minelli, Elton John and many more.

It boasts stunning costumes, live vocals and a high energy West End dance ensemble and is coming to Reading on February 6.

Professional partners since 1997, Anton, 54, and Erin, 45, are one of Britain’s most widely recognised, highly acclaimed, hardworking and best loved ballroom dancing couples in the world today.

After they met in 1997, the couple quickly began to cut a dash through the dancing world, and within a year of forming their inimitable partnership they won the New Zealand Championships - and again the year after. In 1997 they also made it to the prestigious International Dance Championships at London’s Royal Albert Hall.

The pair turned professional in 2002 to place third in the UK in their first professional competition in Blackpool.

Anton and Erin were chosen in 2004 to star in the first series of the BBC1 television show ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ - a show that has gone on to take the world by storm watched by millions of fans.

Anton has appeared in all twelve series to date and Erin the only female professional to appear in ten - stepping down from the competition before the birth of her son.

Years later and Anton and Erin continue to fill theatres and auditoriums country-wide with their sparkling live shows - which has previously included ‘Anton & Erin... Just Gotta Dance’ in 2016 ‘Anton & Erin: Swing Time’ in 2017 and ‘Anton & Erin: From Broadway to Hollywood’ in 2018.

They also appeared in the BBC’s ‘Proms In The Park’ for the second year running, most recently at the spectacular Titanic Slipways in Belfast, and were special guests in a 2014 showcase of ‘Cole Porter Classics’ at the Royal Festival Hall.

Anton and Erin: Showtime comes to The Hexagon in Reading on Saturday, February 6. Get your tickets, priced from £38.50, online at whatsonreading.com/hexagon now.
