LIKE any big town, Reading sees its fair share of crime.

Some areas are more notorious for criminal activity than others, but on which street in the town does the MOST crime take place?

Using Thames Valley Police stats from Police.UK, we have located Reading's most dangerous streets.

These figures are based on the latest data available, which is from the month of July this year.

1. Kennet Walk

Reading Chronicle:

A total of 13 crimes were reported in Kennet Walk in July 2020.

These ranged from eight instances of violence and sexual offences, two cases of theft, one antisocial behaviour offence and two 'other' crimes.

2. Alma Street

Reading Chronicle:

Alma Street saw 10 crimes reported throughout July.

These included three cases of violence/sexual offences, two public order offences, one bicycle theft and four 'other' crimes.

3. Cheapside

Reading Chronicle:

Throughout July, 10 crimes were reported in Cheapside.

These included three cases of violence or sexual offences, two public order offences, one bicycle theft and four 'other' crimes.

4. West Street

Reading Chronicle:

Another 10 crimes were reported in West Street throughout July.

These included four bicycle thefts, two cases of violence or sexual offence, one case of antisocial behaviour and three 'other' crimes.

5. Chester Street

Reading Chronicle:

Chester Street saw nine crimes reported in July.

These were: three cases of shoplifting; two bicycle thefts; two instances of violence/sexual offences and two 'other' crimes.

6. Battle Place

Reading Chronicle:

Battle Place also saw nine crimes in July.

These were: two bicycle thefts; two cases of violence/sexual offences; one antisocial behaviour offences and four 'other' crimes.
