This month, the rehoming centre in Hamstead Marshall is showcasing three-year-old scruffy lurcher, Barley.

Barley loves to be around people so is looking for a family who can give him plenty of attention and are around most of the day.

Reading Chronicle:

Antony Dominy, Dogs Trust Newbury Rehoming Centre Manager, said: “Barley is definitely a people-dog and just loves to be around his two-legged friends.

"He is very loving once he knows you and he’ll need somebody around all of the time initially, with time left alone built up gradually.

“Barley is a sensitive soul so needs patient owners who can take time getting to know him, and support him as he settles into a new environment.

"Treats and bum scratches are the way to his heart so if you can offer him both, you’ll have a friend for life!

“He’s a big, bouncy lad so can live with children aged 14 and over who can handle an exuberant furry friend.

“Barley is picky with his doggy friends but could potentially live with a female four-legged friend, depending on how introductions go at the centre.”
