THE following cases appeared at Reading Magistrates' Court.

August 5:

JAMIE RICHARDSON, 33, of Term Close, Reading, admitted failing to comply with requirements of a community order by not attending appointments on December 12, 2019, and December 20, 2019. also did not attend unpaid work on December 16, 2019, and December 23, 2019. Given a varied community order to undertake 100 hours of unpaid work, and similar rehabilitation activity.

JASON BENFELL, 45, of Kingsley Close, Reading, admitted possession of class A drug cocaine in Reading on May 29, 2020, and admitted possession of class B drug cannabis in Reading on the same date. Fined £32. Also ordered to pay £34 victim surcharge and £40 court costs.

DANIEL FRENCH, 32, of Wakemans in Reading, admitted drink-driving in the A4 at the junction with Oxford Road in Newbury on November 3, 2019. Found to have 82mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, the legal limit being 35mcg. also admitted driving without the correct licence in Western Avenue, Newbury, on November 3, 2019, and admitted not having the correct insurance along the A4 in Newbury on November 3, 2019. Also admitted criminal damage to a vehicle in Newbury on August 11, 2019. Given a conditional discharge for 12 months. Fined £100 and ordered to pay £100 compensation. Also ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 18 months.

AADAM GULZAR, 24, of Park Walk, Reading, convicted of drug-driving in Southcote Lane, Reading, on January 5, 2020. Found to have cannabis in his system. Fined £400. Also ordered to have £40 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. disqualified from driving for 14 months.

RICKY PARSONS, 33, of Willow Street, Reading, admitted assault by beating of a police officer in Reading on March 28, 2019, and admitted possession of 10 wraps of diamorphine in Reading on March 28. Also admitted damaging a hot food display glass worth £80 at New City

Fish Bar in Reading on March 28, 2019, and admitted assaulting a police officer in Reading on March 28, 2019. Also admitted failing to surrender to custody at Reading Magistrates' court on March 3, 2020. Sentenced to 12 weeks in prison suspended for 18 months including curfew requirements for three months between 7pm and 7am. Ordered to pay £100 compensation. Also ordered to pay £115 victim surcharge and £375 court costs.

August 7:

VAJHI MALIK, 36, of Linden Road, Reading, admitted stealing £30 in cash and a sat nav worth £180 in Reading between January 11, 2019, and January 12, 2019. Also admitted handling stolen goods- namely a Natwest Debit Card - in Reading between January 28, 2019, and January 29, 2019, and the same charge in Reading between January 12, 2019, and January 13, 2019. Admitted fraud by false representation after using a stolen bank card to buy items in Tesco in Reading on January 13, 2019, and admitted fraud by false representation by using a stolen bank card to buy items from BP Triangle in Reading on January 29, 2019. Admitted a further charge of fraud by false representation by using someone else's bank card to buy food from McDonald's in Calcot on May 15, 2019, and fraud by false representation by using someone else's bank card to pay for a journey on Reading Buses on May 15, 2019, in Calcot. Also admitted failing to surrender to custody at Reading Magistrates' Court on August 5, 2019. Sentenced to 14 weeks in prison due to severity of offence and previous record.
